Spring Clinic 2009

UPDATE (4/23/09)- THE WATER POLO CLINIC IS BEING POSTPONED TO A LATER DATE TO ALLOW FOR INCREASED ENROLLMENT

Interested in our Spring 2009 clinic?
Cleveland Water Polo Club (CWPC) is hosting a water polo clinic for athletes wanting to learn or gain more experience. Gain skills to be able to join a collegiate or master’s (adult) water polo club.

(We have a basic swimming requirement of having either previous swim team experience or ability to swim 8 lengths or 200 yards unassisted)

Who can sign up?
Men or women, ages 17 and up, who can swim 200 yards (8 lengths) unassisted, or have been members of a swim team. New or experienced players welcome.

About Cleveland Water Polo Club
Cleveland Water Polo Club is Northeast Ohio’s largest master’s water polo club. The club competes in tournaments in the Midwest and hosts regular practices at Hathaway Brown School and Cleveland State University.

2009 Cleveland Water Polo Club Spring Clinic

What: Introduction to the sport of water polo and improving strength in the water

When: Three, 3-hour sessions on Saturdays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. April 25, May 2 and May 9.

Where: Hathaway Brown School, 19600 North Park Blvd., Shaker Heights

Cost: $85 for all three sessions, includes CWPC t-shirt

CWPC Coaching Staff

Eric Sullivan
Coach Sullivan is head coach of CWPC, bringing to Cleveland more than two decades of water polo playing and coaching experience. Sullivan comes from Central California with six years head coaching experience at Edison High School and three years with Synergy master’s water polo. He played varsity water polo for Fresno State University.

Johnny Roy
Coach Roy comes to CWPC from Southern California where he coached men’s high school water polo. His teams made several state tournament appearances with Roy being selected to coach the Orange County All-Star Water Polo Team in 2006. Coach Roy played varsity water polo for the University of California at San Diego. He currently is a swim coach and water polo coach for Solon Stars Swim Club.
